Working with Children
It is highly important that all volunteers (trainers, managers, coaches, etc) anyone involved with a team and children have the Working with Children check.
A Working With Children Check is a requirement for people who work or volunteer in child-related work. It involves a national criminal history check and a review of findings of workplace misconduct. The ramifications are high with fines up to 50k.
The process for the check is quite simple.
01. Apply Online
The application form can now be filled out online. When you have completed the application form, you will receive an Application number (APP) by email.
02. Proof of Identity
Take this Application number and proof of your identity to a NSW motor registry or NSW Government Access Centre to confirm your identity.
03. Your WWC Number
Once your application has been processed and you are cleared, you will receive your Working With Children Check number (WWC) by email (or post if you do not have an email address). This is free to all volunteers.
04. Provide to the Club
Once you have completed the above process and you have received your “Working with Children Check number” please email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Our Working with children officer will process this against your club registration and you will be then compliant.
