Breaking Barriers: De La Salle Football Club Welcomes Girls Rugby League Teams!

14 Mar 2024

In a move that signifies progress and inclusivity, De La Salle Football Club is proud to announce the introduction of girls’ rugby league teams to its roster. This marks a significant milestone for the club, as it opens its doors to young female athletes eager to make their mark on the field.

With divisions spanning from Under 12s to Under 18s, there’s a place for girls of all ages and skill levels to join the action. Additionally, breaking new ground, De La Salle is thrilled to introduce an Under 9s all-girls team, set to play alongside the boys in the competition. This pioneering initiative not only provides opportunities for girls to participate in the sport but also challenges traditional norms, paving the way for a more inclusive future in rugby league.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome girls’ rugby league teams to De La Salle Football Club,” says Katrina Fisher. “This is a significant step forward for our club and reflects our commitment to providing opportunities for all aspiring athletes in our community.”

Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the sport, there’s a place for you at De La Salle. Joining one of our girls’ teams not only offers the chance to develop skills, fitness, and teamwork but also fosters a sense of camaraderie and belonging within a supportive community.
