Under 12’C match report –Sat 21 August
Vs Gymea Gorillas – we won 22-0 Try Scores- Jarrod, Harry, Nathan, Kieran Goals-Harry, Tristan, Nathan Gatorade man of the match – Luke
Congratulations on making the grand final boys a great effort all season and you deserve to be in the big one but the fun starts now, 2 weeks to go of tackling bags, runs, sprints, ball work, getting screamed at by Kieran, Tony x2 and Warren all in aid of our final goal.
A great turn around this week to win our semi final and it showed because we trained with enthusiasm all week, executed our drills with precision and had a motivational speech from big Kizza to fire us all up Friday arvo.
Thanks to REG for doing last week’s match report he was invited to Sutherland oval this week to watch the de la demolition spectacle but was too tight to pay the $5 price for admission. He was later located up a tree to gain his vantage point to watch the game, it looked like a scene out of Gorillas in the mist.
The warm up drill said it all as the boys bashed the training bags with determination and vigour then took it out onto the paddock within twelve minutes we had put on 16 points as a result of great team work.
Jarrod and Mitch put on a great inside play to crash over first up, the backs spread the ball wide to put Harry over out wide a couple of plays later. As we made our way back up to the gorilla try line Nathan spotted a small gap in the defence and put on a left foot step and accelerated over the try line.
Tristan was warned he would earn his money today because of the strong breeze blowing and the gorilla kicks spiralling everywhere, he did a great job at fullback catching the ball and running back to the gorilla line making needed yards. Thanks to luke who gave Tristan a spell and also did a great job at fullback after a busy first half in the engine room to earn man of the match honours.
Thanks to the forward pack for a great job done to dominate early in the game and set the tone for the rest of the game, rewards came to big Kizza with a try mid way through the second half from his constant barging runs.
The backs did a great job on the weekend spreading the ball out wide time and time again as rehearsed at training and their defence was a1.
Welcome back to Pauly Parra you could tell he missed his footy because he was everywhere running and tackling and just happy to be back for the grand final
Everyone enjoy the next 2 weeks of excitement and nerves because this is what grand finals are all about, we will train hard and give it our best shot and hope to bring home the bacon and have fun along the way.
Thanks to everyone players and parents as the season draws to a close all welcome to come and experience the hype at training the next 2 weeks.
Thanks Kieran
